how the jar works
The squish
A Blobly jar has a bottom and a top. Every blob opens at the bottom, buyers fill it toward the top, and whatever they paid stays inside until somebody sells into it. Every trade, either way, gives up a little squish in ETH.
Just spawned
Where every jar starts. Nothing inside yet.
Half full
Buyers have pushed the price up. Their ETH is inside.
Full
Every token sold. The price can only slide back down from here.
Two marks, the same for every jar
Every jar opens at one fixed price, the cheapest a token on Blobly can be. It is full at another, the dearest, once the pool has sold every token it had.
Between the two is the jar. A trade can move the price anywhere inside it and never out; the lid refuses a swap that would try.
The pool's share is sealed in
When a token is spawned, the pool's share of its supply goes into the jar as one position and stays. Nothing in the contracts can take liquidity out of a Blobly jar: not the spawner, not the puddle, not the contract that put it there.
The ETH that buyers pay in sits inside as a bid that belongs to nobody. Only a sell can take it out, and only by handing tokens back.
Every trade gives up squish
A buy pays the squish out of the ETH it puts in. A sell pays it out of the ETH it takes out. The rate is one number, the same for every jar and every trader, and it never changes.
The squish is taken by the Uniswap v4 hook in the jar's key, so a trade through any router pays it the same way. There is no route around it.
Always ETH, always one address
Every Blobly jar is ETH against its token, and the squish is taken on the ETH side whichever way a trade runs. It is never taken in the token.
All of it goes to one address, written into the contracts when they were deployed. There is no setter that could point it anywhere else, and no second fee.
Nothing to run
There is no owner, no pause, no upgrade and no allow-list. The puddle takes any spawn from anyone, for gas and nothing else, and the deployer has had no role since the contracts went up.
What a reader can check is all there is: the source is published under MIT at each address in the Lab.
A hue, and nothing else to choose
A spawner names the blob and picks a number on the colour wheel. The hue is written into the token and is how the puddle draws it. It is the only thing one blob has that another does not.
Everything that could be tuned to someone's advantage is not tunable at all: the same supply, the same split, the same two marks and the same squish for every blob ever spawned.
The trade stays inside the jar
A buy from this site is trimmed to what the jar can still sell and the rest comes back in the same transaction, so squish is only ever paid on ETH that bought something.
A sell the jar cannot pay for in full stops where the ETH runs out and takes only the tokens it used.
Where the figures are
The supply, the split, the two marks and the rate of the squish are constants in the puddle’s and the lid’s source. They are not repeated on this site, because a copy can go stale and the original cannot: read them where they bind. The contracts and their addresses are in the Lab.
